Gallery & Art Foundation


Mustafa Ali Gallery

This establishment is a non-political and non-profit-making foundation the aim of which is to secure the cultural and artistic exchange between the Orient and the West and to take part in and encourage the Syria movement of art at the Arab and international levels and meet with the international movements keeping pace with time.

The experience of this foundation is significant because it is the first private foundation taking part in supporting the projects of art through:

  1. Organizing Arab and international meetings of sculpture.
  2. Organizing exhibitions of art at the levels of Syria and the world.
  3. Organizing conferences of art and artistic and critical symposiums and studies.
  4. Extending assistance in creating dialogue between the Syrian and international arts.
  5. Organizing and supporting exhibitions for the young Syrian artists.
  6. Festivals of art of multiple specializations ( sculpture, painting, photographing, temporary arts, dancing,..).
  7. Organizing artistic and musical shows.
  8. Arranging for a square for artists in the old city by creating professions for them.
  9. Linking the professions and  handicrafts to the painters to help develop the handicrafts.

Out of these activities the dialogue is created between the public, artists and visitors and through these aspects the web of the vivid old city of Damascus  and the web of the movement of art, culture and tourism is given.

Activities of Foundation :

  • Honoring memorial of the late plastic artist Abul Latif Al-Smoudi- 5th July 2005.
  • Exhibition of the French school for children 2005.
  • Exhibition of the “Les Journées de la Photographie de Damas”-French Cultural Center May 2005.
  • Exhibition of the artist Adnan Abdulrahman, April-May 2005.
  • The second International sculpture Meeting 2005.   
  • Competition of the Colours of Damascus for the young artists ( Damascus – Rome).  
  • Competition of Our Environment, Our Life for the young artists (Damascus-Rome-Barcelona).
  • Photographs by the artist Hussein Soufan through a show of the contemporary dancing.  
  • The first International Sculpture Meeting 2004.  
  • Jazz music festival.  
  • Contemporary dancing at the level of the Mediterranean Sea.
